We are Team Refract and we are definitely a little bit different (good different). Hopefully, so are you.
Based at ‘The Core’ in the centre of Newcastle, we’re building a world class SaaS business, solving a key challenge for sales leaders – unlocking the value hidden in sales conversations, using AI to determine what top performers do in your organization and what aligns with successful outcomes, highlighting decisive moment and coachable insight to improve performance and revenue.
Our platform is making waves – our clients include VMWare, SumTotal, ShowPad, Tata Steel amongst a host of technology, recruitment, and many published sales authors and ‘Sales Conversation Intelligence’ has been creating great interest from sales leaders and investors alike.
It’s a good start but this is just the very beginning. We’ve done this before, building one of the region’s biggest SaaS businesses and learning lessons along the way (lots, we have the scars to prove it!). Our product is frigging awesome and getting better and better. Our market opportunity is massive (any inside sales or customer service team globally) and already nearly 75% of our clients are US based.
We are not just blowing our own trumpet – 2 highly respected tech VC’s have backed us along with a host of successful business angels. But, as we may have already mentioned, we are at the very start.
This is a chance to join the founding team at ground zero, to put a story on your CV that changes your life, but more importantly to be part of a team that live and breathe SaaS and Sales, committed to making the very most from this unbelievable opportunity.
We don’t promise unlimited away days and free doughnuts, but we do promise the rewards, opportunities and recognition are limited only by talent and ambition.
If you want to join a start-up that isn’t just playing at this, that can change your life, and you have the right attributes (which are more important than experience) to thrive in such an environment, you may well be a Refract person.
Digital Marketing is a real gap for us today.
Due to our expertise and market, our early focus has been on creating a great sales playbook – outbound sales from a lead generation team and hustling our way to traction, closing business with our Business Development Managers. Bar a few events and pockets of trials – some successful, others less so, 95% of all our leads have started from a cold email or call.
We think we are pretty good at it, but boy do we miss inbound opportunities.
This role is an extension of our sales team, creating engagement and inbound opportunities, to start lukewarm and hot conversations, to compliment out sales outreach.
Our competitors (silicon-valley based) are pretty good at it, and have deep pockets from raising tens of millions. But this is a huge emerging market and we have an awesome offering and story, so we need to get clever to compete with their billboards and helicopter rides (seriously, both) to create excitement, engagement and conversation with sales leaders globally through a tactical use of content marketing, social channels as paid and organic campaigns.
But this role is a part of our sales efforts. Your success and contribution will ultimately be determined by results and impact, not just effort and output. That will provide the opportunity to control your own destiny, without a ceiling of how much our marketing efforts, team and budgets can scale with your success.
Create and lead a content marketing strategy, utilising your own writing skills and leveraging the knowledge, expertise and input of internal teams, partners and clients

Leverage social media channels to generate leads, primarily LinkedIn, Twitter and Quora
Design and implement prospect journeys/ sequences and drip campaigns

Produce a monthly report and recommendations for the management team, articulating the success and evolution of each channel and campaign

Track and demonstrate success and ROI
You will be

An understanding of, and enthusiasm for, start-up company culture and the pace of a fast-growth SaaS business, more likely to have been described as a hustler and relentless in your pursuit of success than meticulous and thorough
A self-starter, comfortable working off their own initiative but unafraid of asking for help and support
A team player who wants to be part of something and have more than a job on their CV
You may have aspirations way beyond this role and have an idea of the experiences and support you’ll need to unlock that potential
Experience in writing compelling content and ads that encourages interactions and engagement
Knowledge and understanding of LinkedIn and Twitter ads
An understanding of PPC and NSEO
